CEO Write-up

The Chamber is in the forefront, taking up issues that have a bearing on the business community of Hong Kong, and also that foster closer understanding and cooperation between Hong Kong, India and China.

The contributions of illustrious leaders of the Chamber in the past have enabled it to reach its position today.

Its dedicated service to Hong Kong has earned the Chamber a valuable place among the business community, and particularly, the Hong Kong Indian business community. The Chamber works closely with the Hong Kong SAR Government, the Consulate General of India and other consulates in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, InvestHK, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and international chambers in Hong Kong. The Chamber is an active member of the International Business Community.

The Chamber organises activities that are of interest to members throughout the year.

The global market knowledge and expertise possessed by our members are tremendous assets, which offer an invaluable advantage to reach markets worldwide.

Through its various sub-committees: China Committee, India Committee, Trade Promotion Committee, Information Technology Committee, Shipping Committee, Financial Services Committee and Diamond, Gems and Jewelry Committee, the Chamber addresses business issues and promotes trade and investments. .

The Chamber is a HKSAR-Government approved Certificates of Origin issuing organization, a privilege accorded to the Chamber in recognition of its contribution to the Hong Kong economy.

Our three offices in Central, Tsim Sha Tsui and Hung Hom offer an array of services to the Hong Kong business community that include the processing of Certificates of Origin and Import and Export Trade Declarations.

The Chamber's Education Trust supports academic excellence. The Trust distributes merit awards to Indian students in Hong Kong and sponsors local Chinese students to undergo training in information technology in Bangalore, India through an arrangement with Infosys Ltd, Bangalore.

The Chamber's Disaster Relief Fund established to assist the victims of the tsunami has purchased land at Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu, India to construct a Vocational Training School.
