Established in 1952, the Chamber has been serving Hong Kong with dedication. The Chamber takes up issues that have a bearing on the business community of Hong Kong, and also fosters a closer understanding and cooperation between Hong Kong, India and China.
The seminal contributions of the Chamber’s illustrious leaders in the past have enabled it to reach its position today. Its committed service to Hong Kong has earned the Chamber respect among business community, and particularly, the Hong Kong Indian business community.
The Chamber works closely with the PRC Government, Hong Kong SAR Government, the Consulate General of India and other consulates in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, InvestHK, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and international chambers in Hong Kong to promote global trade and investments. The Chamber is an active member of the international business community. Its representatives sit on the HKSAR Government committees.

Through its various sub-committees such as China Committee, India Committee, Trade Promotion Committee, Information Technology Committee, Shipping Committee, and Financial Services Committee, the Chamber deliberates business issues, explores new markets to promote trade and investments.
Conscious of the emergence of technology-driven business ambience, the Chamber is taking measures to make its services technology-friendly to enable members to access it without hassle. The Chamber will continue to promote technology-oriented business practices so that members get benefitted.
The Chamber is a HKSAR-Government approved Certificates of Origin issuing organization, a privilege accorded to the Chamber in recognition of its contribution to the Hong Kong economy.
Its three offices in Central, Tsim Sha Tsui and Hung Hom offer an array of services to the Hong Kong business community that include the processing of Certificates of Origin and Import, Export Trade Declarations and Legalization of commercial documents.
The Chamber's Education Trust promotes academic excellence. The Trust distributes merit awards, scholarships to Chinese and Indian students in Hong Kong. The Trust sponsors students from India (Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai) to undergo summer internship under the student exchange programme with the Hong Kong University. The Trust has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong University and Baptist University to promote student exchanges between India and Hong Kong.
The Chamber’s Disaster Relief Fund assists victims of natural disaster.
